It was made up of the parishes of Redinha and Tapéus and had, in 1801, 1848 inhabitants. Inhabited since the Romanization, it had its first charter in 1159 which was granted by D. Gualdim Pais, master of the Order of the Knights Templar. In the fourteenth century, with the extinction of the Order of the Temple, it passed to the Order of Christ. It had a new charter, granted by King Manuel I, on May 16, 1513, beginning a period of prosperity that ended with the French invasions. It is today one of the most important parishes in the municipality's tourist panorama. It was the county seat. It had a Town Hall, Prison and Gallows building, all this until the French Invasions. With this event all the authorities fled to Pombal, hence it ceased to be a municipality. It was linked to Pombal in 1842, from which it would be dismembered by Decree of Law of September 7, 1895 to integrate that of Soure; but he returned definitively to the municipality of Pombal by the will of the population by the Decree of January 13, 1998. About the toponymy of this parish, some people say that it came from Roda, passing through Rodinha and later Redinha. It is located in the extreme northeast of the municipality, at the confluence of this municipality with those of Soure and Ansião, extending along the north and west slopes of the Serra de Sicó. In the first quarter of the twentieth century, Redinha was described by the Guide to Portugal as a very picturesque village with its mills moved by the current of the Anços, a tributary of Arunca. At the entrance to the village, there is a stone bridge with three arches of great antiquity. Why work with Century21? Because we like to help people make their dreams come true!
